In response to growing community interest and need for accessible child care options, the Carbondale Community Cabinet for Children and Youth will host a facilitated conversation, “Caring for Our Future-” on November 25th from 5pm- 6:30 pm at the Carbondale Civic Center This event invites parents, caregivers, educators, and community leaders to explore collaborative solutions for child care challenges in our community.
This engaging discussion will focus identifying solutions to address the unique needs of local families seeking affordable, quality child care in the Carbondale community Participants will have the opportunity to share personal experiences, address barriers, and brainstorm creative solutions that leverage community resources.
Colleen McLaughlin is Chairperson of the Cabinet’s Early Childhood Impact Table . According to Ms McLaughlin, “Child care is a fundamental need for families in our community. We hope to spark conversations that will drive long-term support and resilience for our children and families.”
The conversation will be facilitated by members of the Cabinet whose expertise in community dialogue will guide participants through a structured yet open format. The goals are to:
- Gain insights into the specific child care needs and challenges faced by community members.
- Identify local resources and potential partnerships to enhance child care accessibility.
- Create a foundation for an ongoing community action plan that prioritizes child care solutions.
The Carbondale Community Cabinet for Children and Youth encourages all interested community members, regardless of background or role, to attend this conversation and be a part of shaping local child care solutions. Registration is free, and light snack will be provided.
